Old Lyme Republicans

News Release!
OLD LYME, February 5th – At its February monthly meeting, the Republican Town Committee [unanimously] voted John David Kelsey as its new Chairman to succeed John Bysko who is stepping down.  Dave is active in various capacities in town serving as an Alternate on the Old Lyme Board of Finance since 2010, a member of the Sound View Beach Committee, a member of the Board of Education’s Facilities Committee and as Treasurer of the Phoebe-Noyes Library Board of Trustees.  Dave is a principal of Hamilton Point Investments, a firm he co-founded in 2010 and is headquartered here.

After the vote, Dave remarked, "I am very honored to have the vote of confidence the Old Lyme Republican Town Committee has offered me with my election.  I look forward to working with the Town's Republican residents to build upon the strength created by past RTC leaders and to grow our representation with prudent fiscal policies balanced with the appropriate and reasonable needs of our community."

In other business, the Committee also voted to elect Margaret Jane DeRisio as Secretary to fill the vacancy created by the passing of its long-time member, Frances Sadowski.  The complete roster of RTC Officers and Committee members can be found at Committee Members .

We continue to welcome those interested in the political process to attend a monthly meeting of the Republican Town Committee held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM at Town Hall. Please refer to our calendar page for details.
2013 will be a municipal election year, and your input through exchanging ideas, volunteerism, and donations help our party promote a local government that serves all of us in a responsible and accountable manner.
Come and talk to us about the many Boards and Commissions that make up our town government.
Get involved – government works when we fully participate in it.

Lastly, our committee members remain saddened by the unexpected death of Frances Sadowski who served the Committee with a kindness of spirit and with the gusto of a good citizen, friend and neighbor for many years.
In her memory, let us all be thankful for the people who make up our wonderful town.

Lincoln Day Dinner in Old Saybrook, March 14th

As a show of support and to have a great evening at The Saybrook Point Inn, be sure to reserve a seat now.   I am hopeful that we can bring at least two tables of good Republicans to Saybrook - home of our state assembly woman, Marilyn Giuliano.
